  • No, I am not downloading Toy Blast (ever)!!!

Yeah umm the ads have gotten incredibly annoying in the past year. I understand it’s one of the primary sources of revenue for the Grindr team, but it used to be WAY less annoying. As of now, it seems as if every time I tap on a profile it goes straight to an ad (specifically, Toon Blast or Toy blast — same difference). I literally can’t exit out of the ad for 5-10 seconds. It used to be that ads were at the bottom of the screen and barely interfered with app accessibility, or I used to be able to exit out of the app instantly. How much more revenue is the company drawing in just from mandating its users to view an ad for a specific amount of time? Yes, I understand I could just resolve this nuisance of an issue by purchasing Grindr Extra but it just doesn’t seem worth it to me when Grindr’s competitors do NOT force their users to watch ads for a specified amount of time. Also, can I say that if I still had a Touch ID button that authorized Apple Pay, I would be accidentally buying Grindr Extra every time I didn’t have it? I don’t know if this issue has been fixed, but the developers have made it TOO easy to buy Grindr Extra (like I’m not gonna dispute it later). I could be browsing the app and accidentally clicking on an offer, trying to press the home button to exit out of the app, but paying for the offer instead(?) Just another nuisance to add to the list. Lastly, can we please do something about the overwhelming amount of catfish and sugar daddy bots? I swear, I would literally be making six figures doing nothing if all of the sugar daddies offering me thousand-dollar allowances were real. - autor:Georged9898 - title:No, I am not downloading Toy Blast (ever)!!!

Seems that there is too many fake profiles there. Getting to many massages from unsupported messages. From people from 1000 miles away or so.. - autor:tikotono - title:Unreal

It’s seems that shortly after the Chinese company bought Grindr it has gotten progressively worse by the month with spam and catfishing. No other comparative app has these issues. I look forward to when the new app someone is creating to replace Grindr comes out as it seems the new owners could care less. - autor:erictruro - title:Spam

  • A Lot To Work On The “Diversity Agenda”

    By 2
As a Black user, I really feel Grindr will have to make many White users (some non black people of color as well) uncomfortable if we are going somewhere. There’s rampant anti-blackness among those groups. Don’t get me wrong, we all have our preferences. But, can someone tell me if someone’s attractiveness or gorgeousness is defined by their race? I know change is quite stubborn, but it is what it is. - autor:NON-CONFORMISTE - title:A Lot To Work On The “Diversity Agenda”

After reinstating my profile a few weeks ago something def changed. I noticed a lot of angry resentful profiles , as well as many asking for money in exchange for sex or x rated products, ive seen profiles looking for people to rape? Or to give hiv to ??? I’ve been offered money. I’ve been messaged by unusually thirsty profiles who then disappear when it’s time to meet up. I’ve been stalked and harassed. This doesn’t happen on other apps to me. This didn’t happen to me before on Grindr either so whatever changes were made recently are encouraging really awful things. - autor:Nicknameistalen699 - title:something not right

Avoid like the plague. Grindr CEO does not believe in gay rights or marriage equality. App is full of scammers which Grindr relies on users to police, and seemingly never does anything once they are reported. Ads are invasive pop up and banner style ads for stupid mobile children’s games and erectile disfunction medicine. Ads appear in inbox like messages. Users are often censored when posting opinions critical to the app or for pictures that their puritanical review team deems unfit for the app, or just doesn’t like. Feels like staff are fine with breaking the profile pic rules as long as you are “hot”. App is always trying to get users to subscribe for “premium features” like filtering, seeing who is online, blocking users (yes free users only get a handful of blocks per day, most of which are used on scammers), and proper push notifications (which otherwise just say “Somebody sent you a message”). Get with the program Grindr. People are leaving your platform because it is garbage fire on a sinking ship. Grindr might be the most recognized name in the gay dating app world, but it is well on its way to becoming the next MySpace if it doesn’t listen to its users. Get the bugs and ads figured out. Crack down on scammers. Get your house in order. Update March 2019 App still doesn’t allow users to remove their face or upload a profile photo with a dummy image. Moderators deny approval to photos without my face in them. No body. No illicit content. Just not a photo of my face. App also tricks users into seeing ads by marking them as an unread message. - autor:David Butler - title:Find an alternative
