  • Unreliable, buggy

Sending multi media messages is at a 50% odds of success. Read messages don’t mark as read until you open them again, so I constantly have a badge notification. No easy way to mass delete messages. Yes, I don’t want to keep most messages. - autor:Ssssggggeeee - title:Unreliable, buggy

  • Great idea, getting better but still needs to get basics right

I've been using GV for years and find it essential. They've been making lots of improvements to keep it fresh but there are some persistent basic issues that keep creeping up: - Images occasionally don't get received. It says they are sent but my recipient never gets them - Long delays in sending messages, sometimes out of order - Random scrolling back through message history Hoping for RCS soon - autor:PoiDogFan - title:Great idea, getting better but still needs to get basics right

  • Used to be good, now completely unusable

Recent changes made it so that when you attempt to return a voicemail, it refuses to dial the number unless you do so through a Google Voice number. No way to place the call normally. - autor:Aaaaanson - title:Used to be good, now completely unusable

  • WARNING: you WILL lose the ability to receive call on your carrier number

    By 1
In the past, you can setup Google Voice (GVoice) to receive call ONLY for your GVoice number, so you essentially can have TWO phone number. Example: 1). Your carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.) number is (626) 111-1111 2). Your GVoice number is (626) 222-2222 3). You linked the carrier number to GVoice 4). If someone call your carrier number (626-111-1111), it will bypass GVoice, just like normal phone. Voicemail are left in your Phone app (not Gvoice). 5). If someone call your GVoice number (626-222-2222), it will bypass your carrier. Voicemail are left in GVoice, not your Phone app. NOW, the above is broken: 1). Calls to your carrier number will ALWAYS get forwarded to your GVoice, including voicemail. You no longer can do number 4 above. 2). If someone call your GVoice number, the phone rings, hung up, then GVoice app take over. Gvoice will ring. This is confusing at best. - autor:lanwarrior - title:WARNING: you WILL lose the ability to receive call on your carrier number

  • Junk

This used to be a great app. Now it’s literally junk. Have multiple Apple products with this installed. It’s super slow, hogs resources and it’s literally unusable at time with endless failures to send. It works fine on Android. - autor:123bdg123 - title:Junk

  • Contacts

    By 2
There are several problems. You cannot tap a phone number and add it to contacts - you have to open a new screen and manually enter the name and number After that it takes awhile (an hour or two for me) for that contact to show up in the list of contacts. And sometimes they never do. I have had several missed calls that never ring to my phone. Very unsatisfied with such horrible functionality from a google app. - autor:attenburro - title:Contacts

  • Calls are going to personal voicemail

    By 2
I’ve been using google voice for a few years and overall love it. But recently, calls are going to my personal voicemail. Very annoying and completely defeats the purpose of having a separate number. Also, I’m still waiting for an auto text response when on Do Not Disturb. - autor:Melissanamor4321 - title:Calls are going to personal voicemail

  • Freezes randomly

    By 1
It’s not often I give one star but I am so disappointed by the recent issues. Basically the app will randomly freeze for a few seconds and it happens often. Makes it very annoying. I have iPhone 8 Plus with the latest iOS and battery is still at 93% capacity so its performance is not throttled. Plus all the other app run smoothly. The other significant issue is that sometime the text input field will disappear. I have to quit and reopen the app to get it back. Very annoying. Can’t believe this is an app from Google. I am only having trouble with google voice. I use google voice since the beginning and use it heavily, therefore these issues affects my productivity and experience a lot. I hope the developer will improve it soon. - autor:Not Mark Twain - title:Freezes randomly
