  • Almost everything I wanted and nothing else

Great user interface, simple, fast, the only thing I can’t figure out is how to cast from the app and that would be a huge plus. - autor:dtxmax - title:Almost everything I wanted and nothing else

  • What I was looking for, has some bugs

    By 3
Regular iPhone app kept unsubscribing me from podcasts, and spotify doesn’t do what I need. This app so far has always put new episodes into my inbox, then its a quick swipe to either download and queue up the episode, or archive and ignore (which spotify doesn’t do). Pretty basic requests for a podcast app which seems to be tough to find. Reason for 3 stars - if you’re playing an episode then answer a call, it continues to play in the background so you either have to have a conversation over it, or hang up and call back. Probably a related problem is it doesn’t stop playing when I turn my car off and it unconnects from Bluetooth - it will pause then continue out loud. - autor:jjacks0220 - title:What I was looking for, has some bugs

  • Critical Flaw Prevents Perfection

    By 2
This app truly streamlines the listening experience with your incoming feeds of new podcast shows and episodes. However, a lack of true iCloud or multi-device, multi-platform syncing prevents a higher rating. If you’re a user that switches between devices regularly and want your podcast library to always be updated in real-time, sadly this is not the app that can get that done. - autor:Skorpio47i - title:Critical Flaw Prevents Perfection

  • So much better than Apple podcasts!

    By 5
I am so glad to have found this app! I found myself continually annoyed, frustrated and confused by the Apple podcast app, which is really horrible. Castro is easy to grasp, simple to use, and does everything I need. I also love how it syncs beautifully across my various devices. It’s a keeper! - autor:David Andersen - title:So much better than Apple podcasts!

  • Crashes On Load

I love this app, but come on guys. I’m constantly crashing the second I open the app and often have to close it and reopen twice before actually hearing an episode. - autor:austinrega - title:Crashes On Load

  • BY FAR the best podcast app I’ve found

    By 5
Out of all of the podcasts apps I’ve tried, and I’ve tried all of the top-rated ones as well as some l obscure ones, THIS ONE TAKES THE CAKE! I always hesitate with paid subscription apps, but the ease-of-use, intuitiveness, and speedy interface make the $8.99/yr well worth it. - autor:johnnyt.como - title:BY FAR the best podcast app I’ve found

  • Good player

    By 3
I just switched over from the Apple podcast app and I’m enjoying the new feel of Castro. The only two things that bother me are that I can’t download things before I put them in my queue, and that I can’t set podcasts to show and play episodes in chronological order. I listen to all of my podcasts in chronological order, and with the Apple app I can set the display and play order so that’s easy to do. I would be up to four or five stars if not for those missing features. - autor:SilentQueen - title:Good player

  • Lovely app but lousy support

    By 1
Castro seems like it was tailor-made for the way I listen to podcasts. So why the low rating? Because my primary paid feed stopped updating over two and a half weeks ago and multiple e-mail messages to support have been met with stony silence. I’ve tried everything and the feed just won’t see any episodes past Nov 13. Since I can’t get new episodes on my main feed I have no choice but to use some other podcast app even though none of them are nearly as good at triage. Castro is now useless to me. - autor:Belden Fox - title:Lovely app but lousy support

  • Truly one of the best podcast apps, with a few caveats

    By 4
This podcast app is great. Arguably probably one of the best, if not the best. The fact that it organizes podcasts into an inbox so that the user can decided yay or nay on specific episodes is great. I feel like I really have fine-tuned control over my podcasts between that and being able to organize and manipulate the order of my queue on the fly. Now, the areas it could improve. The discover/search section is just not up to par with other podcast apps. If you already know what shows you care to listen to, you're pretty golden. However, if you are new to listen to podcasts or want to find new shows to listen to, this app will not be very helpful. Every modern podcast app has lots of features for discovery of podcasts. Featured sections, top charts, browse by podcast network, etc. Castro only has about 10-15 genres to browse through with like 10-20 podcasts in each. It is just not good in that regard and prevents me from giving it a full 5 stars. - autor:Matthew Paul Smith - title:Truly one of the best podcast apps, with a few caveats
